I was a dump and downright pessimistic person.
Spam phrase of the day.
I lob to signify to it as again as I can…
Does this shit really fool anybody? Seriously, ANYBODY? Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad to see that the majority of spammers continue to make only the slightest effort at varying the well-established formula–I’m sure it makes it easier for the spam filters to do their job–but, wouldn’t a spammer have a much higher chance of [...]
Gee, if only…
…someone would post a comment telling me how I could obtain affordable insurance, or how I could get in to the exciting world of online gaming, or how to obtain real–or generic–Levitra® or Cialis® or Viagra®, or for that matter, Trazodone or OxyContin®…
Oh, if only…
I’ve given the old girl a facelift…
Welcome to my new WordPress theme. Why a new theme? Well, as the old adage goes, if you want something done right, do it yourself.
You know, when I started playing around with this blog, I made a quick pass through the WordPress Free Themes Directory and selected the closest thing to what I had in [...]
IntenseDebate aware of issues; solution in the works
After an exhaustive search of the IntenseDebate Knowledge Base (which is to say my search was “exhausted” when I found an answer) I’ve learned that the good folks at IntenseDebate are well-aware of the problems that I (and others) are having with the Safari web browser… and, they are working on a solution.
In the meantime, [...]
IntenseDebate installed; still ironing out some wrinkles
I’ve been reading vjack blog about IntenseDebate for weeks, and never really gave it any thought. But, I had occasion to comment on one of his posts at Atheist Revolution, and was taken by the threaded comments. So, I checked it out and it turns out that IntenseDebate has some very compelling features, even if [...]
Ha! Splog manages to steal only my copyright notice!
Here’s one from the “it doesn’t happen often, but…” file…
Call them what you want, “spam blogs”, “link blogs”, whatever. You’ve all seen the sites I’m talking about that contain no content other than a crapload of advertising, plus links to legitimate articles on other blogs that all focus on a specific subject-matter. Some are worse [...]
A tale of my WP plugin problem and the improbable solution
Fuck me running!
I’m a software developer by trade. I know, I know, you’d never guess that from my handle, thecodepounder, right? Well, be that as it may, I write software for a living (I wouldn’t presume to describe my job in resume’-terms on this blog, e.g. “conceive, design, write and implement world-class solutions, the brilliance [...]
Home from vacation
Whew! Home again. I guess my hiatus is over. Weekends and vacations are never long enough, unless they are too long, and too long is much worse.
FWIW, my family and I spent 5 days in the mountains on a very well-deserved mini-vacation. Nothing like unplugging for a few days to recharge your batteries. No internet, [...]
WordPress v2.5 upgrade completed
Well, I’ve completed my upgrade to WordPress v2.5. As always, the upgrade was about as painless as it could be: (1) Backup website; (2) Backup MySQL; (3) Deactivate plugins; (4) Upload new WordPress files; (5) run Upgrade.php; (6) Reactivate plugins. Simple.
WordPress v2.5 rocks. And, the only problem that I had with RC1 [...]
One week with Spam Karma 2
Well, it’s been one week that I’ve been running Dave’s Spam Karma 2 and the results are in–it’s working perfectly! Ahhh. Nice.
WordPress v2.5 Release Candidate 2 now online
Well, I’ve upgraded my WordPress installation to WordPress v2.5 RC2 and so far I like it. We’ll see how it pans out over the next few days, but so far so good!
UPDATE: Well, I’m having trouble adding a link to this post in “Visual” mode, can add the link find in “HTML” mode, but [...]
