Disney-Pixar bumps up ‘UP’ release date

Jerry Reed dies at 71

Jerry Reed, country music’s howling virtuoso and a star of stage, studio and screen, has died. Born Jerry Reed Hubbard, Mr. Reed suffered from emphysema and was in hospice care. He was 71, and he leaves an unparalleled legacy of laughter and song.

Don LaFontaine dies at 68

Don LaFaontaine, the undisputed “King of Voiceovers” died yesterday at the age of 68.  LaFontaine has voiced over 5,000 movie trailers and 350,000 commercials.  He is credited (or responsible, depending upon your views) for the ubiquitous introductory line, “In a world…”.

Netflix’s unprecedented shipping problems continue

The unspecified problems are affecting all 55 of the company’s shipping centers.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve found Netflix’s service to be very reliable over the last five or so years. I was pleased that they sent me an email right up-front when they couldn’t ship my next movies.

Bernie Mac, comedian and actor, died Saturday in Chicago of complications from pneumonia.
Bernie Mac was one of the funniest men who’s ever lived.  He had a unique voice and his presence will be sorely missed.
