About

Me? Well, I’m a guy who’s got nothing to say and no one to listen, but likes to screw around on his Mac… A long time rational thinker (which is to say skeptic), I tend to eschew the supernatural (and you thought I was going to say “eschew obfuscation”, didn’t you?).

A devout user of all things Apple, I own three Macs, four iPods and two iPhones… My Macs (oldest to newest):

  • Mac Mini (Original PPC): 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4 Processor, 1 GB SDRAM, 80 GB HDD, Slot Loading SuperDrive. Still kickin’ it.
  • 17″ MacBook Pro (Intel Core 2 Duo): 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB SDRAM, 320 GB HDD, Slot Loading SuperDrive. Awesome.
  • 24″ iMac (Mid 2007–Aluminum): 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB SDRAM, 500 GB HDD, Slot Loading SuperDrive. Un-Be-Lievable, no–really.

My personal philosophy or credo would have to be “to each his own, just leave me alone.”

Professionally, I am a software engineer, based in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee (transplanted from South Louisiana). I’ve been a professional software engineer for 18+ years and a “Windows developer” for a little over a decade. And, despite the fact that my very livelihood is predicated upon Windows development and Microsoft development tools (hehe, he said “tool”), I am a Mac fanatic. You could say that I’m a Windows developer by necessity, and a Mac guy by choice, slowly but surely (well, slowly anyway) teaching myself Xcode / Cocoa, and AppleScript. I like to think that being a Mac guy in a world of Windows apologists gives me a measure of objectivity and perspective (in both worlds) that many others just don’t have. But then again, what the hell do I know?

And, last but not least, the joke that defines me–when you get this joke, you’ll “get” (i.e. possess a deeper understanding of) me:

Two marshmallows are outside playing in the dooryard; they decide to go for a walk. They walk across a footbridge and one of them falls off. The other one looks down over the side of the bridge and asks, “Radio? What radio?”

Get it? Oh well, of all the days I’ve had, this is one of them…
