Next year’s Pro Bowl to be played week before not after

ESPN (along with the rest of the planet) is reporting:

The Pro Bowl will be played one week before the Super Bowl in 2010 and both games will be staged in Dolphin Stadium, a person directly involved in the decision told The Associated Press on Monday.

This is a tough one. While I certainly agree that ending the season with the “big game” would do much to remove the somewhat disappointing or anticlimactic nature of the Pro Bowl, you must admit that playing the Pro Bowl the week after the conference championships presents  something of a Catch-22, because it means that the Pro Bowl will be played without any of the Super Bowl stars. It’ll be interesting to see.
