Kentucky jumps the shark with homeland security law

Associated Press:

FRANKFORT, Kentucky – A group of atheists filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to remove part of a state anti-terrorism law that requires Kentucky’s Office of Homeland Security to acknowledge it can’t keep the state safe without God’s help.

What the fuck? This is so patentently offensive as to be beyond imaginination. And, if you can’t see how I could call it patently offensive, just substitute any “other god” in the above statement: Buddah, Vishnu, Xenu, Zeus, Jupiter… What? Don’t want to bow down to Zeus? How about The Beatles? or trees? or extraterrestrials? or, as George Carlin famously suggested, Joe Pesci?

Or, how about “a bottle of whiskey and two hookers”?

…state anti-terrorism law that requires Kentucky’s Office of Homeland Security to acknowledge it can’t keep the state safe without the help of a bottle of whiskey and two hookers.

How’s that sound? I think it sounds better (not to mention, more realistic), but maybe that’s just me.
