More superstition and fuzzy thinking in campaign coverage

Oooh. Did you know the Washington Redskins lost last night? Well, certainly you’re keeping a close eye on Ohio, since that’s the state that picks the winner of the presidential election, right?

Let me ask you this: If I flip a plain old regular quarter ten times in a row and it comes up ‘heads’ each time, what is the probability that the eleventh flip will determine the result of the election?
