First let me state for the record that I do not watch television, except for the occasional indulgence of Masterpiece Theatre or CSPAN. No offense intended, but I find pretty much everything else to be simply too low-brow. Let me further state, for the record, that I’m lying through my teeth.
Now, I don’t watch a lot of television, well, by most people’s standards, but what I do watch I want to enjoy — either because I’m learning something, or am captivated by story, or just because I’m laughing my ass off. So, it is with great anticipation that I await the return of 24 on November 23rd. It’s hard to believe that 24 hasn’t aired since May of 2007… This past winter just wasn’t quite the same without Jack Bauer to worry about.
30 Rock returns a week from tonight, October 30th. I think this is an excellent sitcom, in fact, I put it right up there with my other favorites, The Big Bang Theory (speaks for itself) and Rules of Engagement (Patrick Warburton, need I say more?) which reportedly will be returning for a third season but not until mid-season, for some reason.
Also this season, I’ve started watching Raising the Bar on the high explosives network. I like this show — it gives a little different perspective to the legal drama genre.
Oh, almost forgot to mention, Supernatural. Love this show — if you’ve never seen the show, think “X-Files” as opposed to “Ghost Whisperer”. Also forgot to mention Nova on PBS. Watch it just about every week.
That’s about it. No really, that’s about the extent of my television viewing habit. Ok, fine, I wasn’t counting the NFL, because it’s seasonal. And, the show the I watched this summer and just loved, Evolve on History is apparently no longer airing. Too bad, it was very good.
So that’s not too bad, huh? 5 or so hours of TV a week? I don’t know, maybe that is a lot, but that’s me.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that I don’t catch the occasional MythBusters or Dirty Jobs, or even NCIS…
