What the hell happened to the American Christian ministry? When exactly did “liberty” take a back seat to “everyone must live their lives according to what I believe”?
Liberty is the soul’s right to breathe, and when it cannot take a long breath, laws are girdled too tight. Without liberty man is in a syncope.

(Yes, I recently re-watched Good Will Hunting–only I did my own research. I can’t seem to locate the above quote in Prayers from Plymouth Pulpit (New York: A.C. Armstrong & Son 1887). I can only find it in Life Thoughts. Of course, I don’t tend to automatically believe everything I hear or read–I always try to do my own thinking and my own research.)
