New York governor tells state agencies to honor gay nuptials

New York governor David Paterson has instructed state agencies to immediately change policies and regulations to recognize gay marriages legally performed outside the state of New York. This comes mere hours after California issued a directive Wednesday authorizing the issuance of marriage licenses to gay couples beginning on June 17th.

My prediction (which only expands on my earlier prediction) is that state constitutional “marriage” amendments, like the one we have here in Tennessee, will relatively soon be deemed as violating the federal constitution and therefore unenforceable.  What is the world coming to when plain prejudice can no longer be cloaked in religious robes? Hmmm.
