Ricky Williams is out for the season, after just 6 carries in the Monday Night game against Pittsburgh. Talk about your bad breaks! One game. Dude has played in one game (NFL game, that is) in the last two years.
If dude could just stop “puffin’ the cheeba” as the kids say, he’d probably currently be regarded as one of the top running backs in the league. Seriously. I mean, you gotta figure that everything after the 2003 season has been a throw away. Nonetheless, in his first 5 seasons, he rushed for almost 6500 yards. In 2005, after he much publicized “year off”, he rushed for 743 yards, which leads me to believe that if he had just kept playing (which is to say if he’d been able to abide by the league’s banned substance policy), he’d probably still be a 1000 yard a year rusher (or close to it, anyway)…
Sad when you think about it…
